Introducing the Helping Hearts:

Our Helping Hearts group is for outreach to outside organizations and people.  We collect peanut butter and cereal for Tallmadge's Food Bank.  There is a bake sale to raise funds for duffel bags for Children Services' foster children.  At Christmas we coordinate an Angel Sale to raise money for Tallmadge Good Neighbors and a Giving Tree where congregants hang hats, scarves, mittens, and socks for needy children.  We put together the information for the Hunger Walk each year which raises money for the Akron-Canton Foodbank.  Sometimes we do other fundraisers. We meet on the second Sunday of each month to report on the status of various group activities.

Senior Lamplighters is a group that is included in Helping Hearts, but also meets on its own to organize field trips to interesting locations all over NE Ohio for the whole congregation.   Some of these trips have included county fairs, Amish country, quilt shows, arboretums, and art museums.

All congregants are welcome to join the activities of Helping Hearts and participate in our meetings which occur on the second Sunday of each month.  We gladly welcome new members.

If you have questions or would like more information about the Helping Hearts you can email us at info@unitychapeloflight.org
