Hello Smiling Heart

In April we featured a few chants from  Michael Stillwater's ChantWave.  It was great!!!!.........so we are going to continue with with a few more in May.  To hear some clips and get some of his thoughts on chanting go to

http://www.innerharmony.com/chantwave.htm.  His style of chanting overlaps quite a bit with that of Smiling Heart's

I often begin these notices with a quote from someone who has attended.  Today, I'd like to relay my own experience from last month.  In April when our guest performer Larry  Frascarelli played one of his chants with the group, I decided to not perform and for the first time in 4 years and just take in the experience from one of the church seats.

And...... how different it was!  After maybe 5 - 6 minutes, I detected the part of my body between my heart and solar plexus was vibrating.  People who have attended over the past 4 years have talked to us about vibrations they feel.... it was gratifying to experience it firsthand!  The experience does not lend itself to words... a few that come to mind are calming, warming, tingling, and focused awareness of wholeness  and connection. It was a familiar feeling.  I had been there before. However, it took lots of mediation practice to get there.  It was like a step off the stage and into The Now!
